Hi, I’m Mark — the person behind CompWall.
This all started pretty simply. A few years ago, when my daughter was nine, she discovered climbing. She’d been surfing before, but when the cold weather rolled in, we started looking for something to do indoors. We found a local climbing gym — and she was hooked from day one.
Since then, she’s been climbing three or four times a week, entering competitions whenever she can. I went along as a parent, tried a few climbs myself, and… well, I got hooked too (though I’ll admit, I’m still very much on the “casual” side).
As she started doing more comps, I found myself spending hours each week trying to find out what climbing competitions were happening around the UK — bouldering events, local fun jams, national rounds, you name it. The info was all over the place: scattered across wall websites, social posts, and event pages.
So I started keeping a list. Then I realised — if I’m spending all this time finding and organising every UK climbing competition, maybe other parents and climbers could use the same info too.
That’s how CompWall was born — a one-stop site for all climbing competitions in the UK, from small local bouldering comps to major national events.
Each week, I spend a couple of hours gathering, checking, and updating the latest comp details so you don’t have to. Whether you’re a serious competitor, a parent planning the next weekend, or just looking for a fun indoor climbing challenge, I want this to be the place you come.
CompWall isn’t a big project — it’s just something I built to make life easier for climbers, and to help the community stay connected and informed.
Thanks for being part of it — and if you find the site useful, share it with your gym, your climbing mates, or anyone else who might appreciate having every UK climbing competition in one place.
See you at the wall.
– Mark
